Three Activities Everyone Should Have On Their Travel Bucket List!

Tuesday, July 11, 2017

When a lot of people think about traveling, they tend to focus on one thing: the destination. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of posts online about places that you need to go to before you die or where the best travel destinations are. But there's something that a lot of people tend to forget. The best thing about taking any trip isn't where you go; it's what you do while you're there! If you're planning a trip then, sure, you should think about the destination. But you should also think carefully about what it is that you want to actually do during your trip. If you want a serious outdoors adventure, then that's going to take you to a totally different place than a culturally rich city break. With that in mind, here are three things that every single person should have on their travel bucket list.

Divers Under the Sea

There really is nothing quite like being able to dive under the water and get a glimpse of a world that you'd never be able to see otherwise. This is why scuba diving is such an incredible experience for a lot of people. It's the kind of thing that absolutely everyone should do at least once in their lives. There are hundreds of sites all over the world, it doesn’t matter where you find yourself, head over to the local dive shop to get all of the equipment that you need as well as speak to instructors who can give you all of the advice that you need, even if you're a total beginner. Whether you’re swimming with shoals of fish or exploring some beautiful coral reefs, there’s just something truly magical about being able to dive down and discover some totally new and incredible things.

Mountain climbing

As the first man to climb Mount Everest once famously said, he climbed because "it was there." Now, this might sound like a bizarre reason to climb all the way up a mountain, but anyone who's ever actually done it can definitely understand what he was talking about. The incredible sense of pride and achievement that you get from reaching the summit after hours, maybe even days, of climbing is something that nothing can ever really compare to. Combine that with the amazing view you're certain to get as you stand at the top of the world looking down on everything and it's the kind of experience that really has to be experienced to be truly understood.

A real road trip

adult, book, business

Now, a lot of people drive to where they need to go when they're traveling, but that's not a real road trip. When you're on a real road trip, the point is that the journey is the reason that you're doing it. You're not just going from point A to point B. Sure you might well end up having a destination of some kind, but the main bulk of the trip is made up of the stuff that you see as you're driving, the random stops that you make when you see something cool, the diners that you stop to eat at along the way. All of these things are what make a genuine road trip one of the most exciting, unpredictable and enjoyable experiences in the world. Of course, make sure that you're doing it with friends.
