I don’t have any idea why they name the restaurant that way. Me and Siew Ping went here to celebrate my success in getting new job that I’ve long wished for! So I made it finally after suffering so much in my previous company. Let’s not talk bout the sad thing and hop to the food instead. In fact, this was our last options since the other restaurant’s kitchen are closed or their menus does not met our expectation (for full story check it out at Golden Holidays ).
The cozy and affable environment has impressed us to finally sat down and glance through the menu. The menu was rather simple, it wasn’t fascinating at all looking through it. It looks absolutely like those classic menu in those vintage western restaurant without any pictures to elaborates the menus!
So it was rather quick that I ordered the Braised Lamb Shank, RM 46.00.
The lamb was well cooked and the flaky meat is just so tender to chew on. It is actually very soft but at the same time very chewy. The flavorsome braised sauce with slices of button mushroom enhance the juiciness of the lamb. A cut of the lamb and a sip of the Chateau Peyruchet Bordeaux Blanc Red Wine, France, RM 29.00 definitely leaves you totally fell in love!
Ahh…Another bite, I’ll marry you MR LAMB! The accompanying mash potato was just moderate, perhaps they should smash harder to crush the tiny little potatoes cubes. In fact the portion is way too big which I really try so hard to finally stuffed it all into my stomach (lucky it’s delicious).
In fact I am not a fan of wines! I prefer beer, you guys must have say I’m idiot! Wines is the best friends of western food!! However, I find this wine is acceptable to me, its not so heavy to gulp through!
On the other side, she ordered Grilled Black Cod, RM 52.00. Every single flake of the black cod was so nourishing comes with a very sweet sea fresh aroma. On the other side of the dish, The accompanying gravy was thin so that it remains the freshness taste of the black cod. it was the deep fried seasoned spring onion! Seriously, i never eat the spring onion once or at least not even by mistake! However, this method of overdone the spring onion actually impressed me for the first time. She matched the white meat with white wine, Pinot Gricio, RM 26.00. It’s rather sourish to my liking! It’s a lean wine that is light in color with sometimes spritzy flavors that can be crisp and acidic.
Well the night end with the end of Japan and Uruguay World Cup football match. We really have a good time dining here and we love the portraits they hang on the wall. It reminds me of Paris deeply!
